Anne Phung Nguyen

Anne Phung Nguyen, a Vietnamese American businesswoman, lives in Orange County California. I have a wonderful fiance named JP and a frightened father Henry. Many people recognize me on Instagram, where I chronicle my journey - from the highs and lows. My parents took me into America in 1990, when I was only one and a half years old. It wouldn't be possible to share my story to you now had my parents not worked for their dreams and put up with sacrifices. Being aware of the possibility for a better life, I strived to make them proud and was a shrewd entrepreneur when it came to success. I believed my life would be one way or another: I'd graduate from college, land a corporate position, get married and start with a family. My idea of success was to go to college after graduation, and then find an employment in a corporation. Then I'd get married then buy a house, and then have children. But life had different plans. The year 2013 brought me to the realization that it difficult to accept my job. While the pay and position was good but I did not feel that it was fulfilling. It was more like I was simply wasting my time. As I began to move towards my new life path I realized that I was a personal trainer and what I wanted to do. I have a love for exercise, enjoy being around people and helping people. The year 2014 was the year that I established my company and it will be my 7th year anniversary by 2021. There are few Asian women in the industry. My goal in this industry is to build a more sustainable and healthier lifestyle that can meet the demands of my customers. I also strive to empower others to go after their dreams and do all they wish to do in their life. While my career was taking off and I was advancing, my mom passed away. The loss of my mother is hardest of all. She has won the eight-year fight with Scleroderma. She is now resting in Heaven and I'll keep her in my heart. The lessons of life can be hidden from us, but they can be very useful. In so many ways, my mother's passing has changed my life. I truly believe she offered me another chance to be a part of her story after she passed away. She passed away in the morning of Tet/Lunar New Year Day. It was the day she decided to start her new journey. I got my second chance to live a happy and fulfilled life. As I enter my 30's, I'm alive and alert. I truly feel that I am living now and not merely existing like I did in the past. As I tell my story, I hope that my thoughts will resonate with you. I hope that my words can make you aware that you're never alone. That you have the ability to achieve anything that your heart desires. Only one life is yours. I want you to be the best version of yourself.
